This week, Katie Gilfillan from the Healthcare Financial Management Association explains how doctor pay has evolved since physicians owned their practices. Now that most are employed by hospitals or health systems, their compensation packages look different. The industry also is moving toward value-based payment, which means they are paid based on patient satisfaction, patient outcomes and other factors.
