DES MOINES, Iowa —
Recently-retired KCCI photographer Cortney Kintzer — a Beatles superfan — lined up hours ahead of Paul McCartney's concert Tuesday in Des Moines just to see the icon's arrival.
It was time well spent, he said.
After four hours of waiting outside Casey's Center, Kintzer was able to snap several photos of McCartney arriving with a police escort for sound check around 5:20 p.m. The concert didn't start until 8.
It's the 13th McCartney show for Kintzer (in eight cities) and ninth time he's lined up for the limo watch.
"(McCartney) knows hard-core fans come early to see him arrive," Kintzer said. "He always slows down and gives everyone a photo op."
Kintzer shared the photos below with KCCI.
