EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva has signed the fiscal year 2025 to 2026 budget.
The $205 million budget was reached in a four-to-one city council vote on October 8, after the mayor requested an additional $10 million.
The budget is being paid for by a total property tax levy of four-percent, which the mayor’s office says will bring in more than $4.5 million dollars in extra revenue.
The majority of the budget is going towards education and the renovation of Martin Middle School.
The budget will go in to effect November 1, with tax bills being mailed out in May.
