LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A woman accused of driving under the influence while pregnant and crashing into a group of pedestrians is appearing in court Wednesday afternoon for her sentencing hearing.
Ashley Monroe drove her car through pedestrians in May 2024, killing two people, including a former Lansing Township firefighter, and injuring 14 others. The sentencing was originally scheduled for Oct. 7 before Monroe’s legal team submitted a motion to withdraw her lawyer, which was later withdrawn, keeping her attorney on the case.
