As the high school football season in Michigan gets closer to a regular season close, the games get tighter and holding onto a perfect season or top ranking get tougher.

When the Michigan sports writers released their newest batch of state-wide rankings, that was also reflected, as three new No. 1 ranked teams stepped into the fold and a tie at the top took over another division.
There were a couple other notable slides by teams across the divisions.
In Division 3, DeWitt overtook previously No. 1 ranked Detroit Martin Luther King for the top spot by just a two-point margin.
In Division 6, previous unbeaten Traverse City St. Francis fell out of its top ranking – which they held for much of the season – after a loss to Division 5 No. 3 Pontiac Notre
