Mozilla is in the process of testing a free, in-browser VPN service for Firefox users.

A beta experiment announcement for the feature was posted back in June on Mozilla Connect, but several sites are now reporting that some Firefox users are being invited to test out the feature and provide feedback.

The VPN feature wouldn't be the first in-browser virtual private network. Opera has offered such a feature for almost a decade and Microsoft added the feature to its Edge browser.

Five years ago, Mozilla introduced a paid service, Mozilla VPN , at $10 a month or $5 a month with an annual subscription.
