A man has been taken to hospital suffering with serious injuries after a house fire in Lincoln today (Wednesday). The incident was first reported by Lincolnshire Police at 2.30pm.

Officers said that they were at the scene of a house fire on Addison Drive in St Giles. The road was closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.

They later reported that a man with serious injuries was hospitalised following the blaze. The route was still shut as of 4.18pm.

Lincolnshire Police said at 2.30pm: "We are currently on the scene of a house fire on Addison Drive in St Giles, Lincoln. We have closed the road (Addison Drive) while emergency services deal with the incident.

"We are asking the public to avoid the area. Incident 196 of today refers."
