PARKLAND, Wash. — A woman died Wednesday morning when a suspect fleeing from Pierce County deputies ran a red light and crashed into her vehicle at the intersection of 112th Street and Ainsworth Avenue in Parkland.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office said a deputy attempted to stop a suspect wanted on a felony Department of Corrections warrant. The suspect sped away at approximately 80 miles per hour and drove through a red light at the intersection, striking the woman's vehicle as she traveled through on a green light.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet been able to identify her.
