GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island City Council unanimously approved an over $3.7 million bid award for major renovations at Ryder Park at Tuesday night’s meeting, setting the stage for the arrival of a new Diamond Baseball League team.
Nemaha Sports Construction from Lincoln won the bid for the Ryder Park Field Project, which will be funded through food and beverage funds. The extensive upgrades are designed to accommodate the new professional baseball team coming to Grand Island.
The renovations have garnered significant support from local baseball enthusiasts and community members. During the City Council meeting on Aug. 5, Parks and Recreation Director Todd McCoy said local baseball enthusiasts have put a lot of support behind this project.
“They gave a presentation to Ci
