JANESVILLE, Wis. — They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But for Erica Myher, a quiet room in her new home is worth a million memories of her son Jaiden Benitez -- and reminds her of her fight for justice and closure.

“This is his video camera that he shot his music videos with,” Myher said, pointing to a shelf lined with mementos in front of a wall of photos. “This is Jaiden just in his element because he always thinks he's so handsome.”

“We always come in here and spend time with Jaiden because it's not so heavy,” she said. “Every morning: ‘good morning.’ I open the blinds: ‘good night,’ I close the blinds.”

Benitez was more than just a teenager with a camera, his mother said. He was a young entrepreneur.
