Until and unless one of these rapists is given extreme punishment like surgical castration (complete removal of male reproductive organs) and made an example of in full public view, young girls and women of our country will continue to be subjected to the heinous crime of rape. If women in cities can be subjected to such crimes then one can only imagine the scenario in small towns and villages, where majority of rape cases may be going unreported due to social stigma and/or being threatened by the rapists.

Women’s organizations and concerned NGOs should take up this issue seriously, and compel politicians and the Hon’ble Supreme Court to take strict action against this atrocity being inflicted upon women and girls. Otherwise, merely condemning the rapes and seeking justice is only lip ser
