A North Chicago man apparently fatally shot his domestic partner before taking his own life, according to Lake County authorities.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office identified the couple as Olivia Lacey, 36, and John Taylor, 39. Both died from a gunshot wound to the head, the coroner’s office said.

Police responded to their residence in the 2300 block of California Avenue in North Chicago at 8:08 p.m. Friday after receiving reports of a shooting and found the bodies.

North Chicago police said it appears Taylor shot Lacey and then himself. The shootings, which police said appear to be an isolated incident, remain under investigation.
