CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Many federal employees will not receive a paycheck this month as the U.S. enters Day 15 of the government shutdown with no end in sight.
Since Oct. 1, hundreds of thousands of federal workers have been furloughed or working without pay, creating a financial burden for them and their families.
The shutdown comes after Republicans and Democrats in Congress failed to solve a budget issue on healthcare funding.
More than 15,000 federal employees work in the Greater Cincinnati Area. The number facing furloughs or who are not getting paid remains unknown. FOX19 NOW submitted a FOIA request to see how many workers are impacted in the Tri-State.
