Trying to send the 23-year-old Sebrango their American Hockey League affiliate in Belleville, the Senators were hoping they’d be able to squeeze him through on the waiver wire, but the Panthers needed help.

The decision by the Panthers came after Florida coach Paul Maurice told reporters that defenceman Dmitry Kulikov will be out five months after having surgery on his wrist.
