The University of Derby has confirmed it is planning a round of redundancies which could see 265 members of staff losing their jobs.
The institution says the plans, confirmed late on Wednesday (October 15), are part of its effort to ensure "long-term sustainability".
Derbyshire Live first reported in June that job losses were on the horizon as the university planned a reorganisation.
Unison East Midlands head of higher education, Elliott Dean, previously said : "These cuts aren't just numbers, they're people who keep the university going and make a real difference every day.
"Whether it's supporting students, maintaining buildings, or keeping services running, these roles are vital. If the University of Derby cares about its future, it should be backing its staff, not cutting them.
