UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- Utica City FC announced their home opener to start off their sixth season in Utica on Wednesday afternoon.
The team announced on Facebook on Wednesday, October 15 that they will host the Kansas City Comets for their home opener on Sunday, December 7. The two teams met twice last season, with the Comets taking both games, 4-3 on March 1 and 7-6 on March 28.
This is also a rematch of the 2023-24 Eastern Conference Playoff, which Kansas City also won in a sweep. Utica City has not beaten the Comets since January 28 of 2024, when they beat them 7-3 at the Adirondack Bank Center.
Only eight teams will play in this year's MASL season, with the former Harrisburg Heat moving down to MASL2 because of their recently announced move from Harrisburg to Hershey, Pennsylv
