Kathryn Elizabeth Condie Hahn died Oct. 12, 2025, after scoring a winning percentage of 66.67 in three bouts with cancer.

She was born Dec. 20, 1980, to Rex and DeEsta Porter Condie in Phoenix, Arizona. She was the youngest of five and attended Litchfield Park (Arizona) Elementary School and Agua Fria Union High School in Avondale, Arizona. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from Arizona State University (2002) and American Public University System (2013) and had a passion for libraries and historic preservation. She was on the board of the Justice Museum in Phoenix.

She was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia in 2004. The initial prognosis was grim, but Katie surprised her doctors and in a few years was pronounced
