Red, White & Royal Blue , with its love story between a British prince and the son of the US President, quickly became a massive streaming hit on Prime Video when the film premiered in 2023. To little surprise, a Red, White & Royal Blue sequel has officially been announced , but there are going to be some changes from the original romantic comedy.

Prime Video announced on October 15 that it greenlit the sequel, which has the new title Red, White & Royal Wedding . Also Jamie Babbit, an Emmy-nominated director of Silicon Valley and Only Murders in the Building , as well as the cult film But I'm a Cheerleader , has been brought on to direct, taking over from Matthew López, who co-wrote the sequel's script with Gemma Burgess and Casey McQuiston, author of the original novel
