18-year NBA veteran Russell Westbrook is signing a one-year minimum contract with the Sacramento Kings, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania:

BREAKING: Nine-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook has agreed on a deal to sign with the Sacramento Kings, Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports Management tells ESPN. The 2017 league MVP enters his 18th NBA season.

According to Sam Amick of The Athletic (subscription required), several Kings players were lobbying for the Kings to sign Westbrook, who played well at times last year for the Denver Nuggets. Superstar Nikola Jokic also reportedly lobbied for Westbrook’s inclusion on the Nuggets’ roster last year, according to Harrison Wind of DNVR:
