UTSA released new polling on two propositions that will be the Nov. 4 ballot related to Project Marvel. The data shows the city is still closely split on those ballot measures.
Prop A would fund upgrades to the Frost Bank Center and Freeman Coliseum. County leaders see this is an important step in the possible move of the Spurs to downtown, in order to keep the Frost Bank Center fresh and able to attract large events. That will be funded with $193 million from hotel and rental car taxes, which will mostly be paid by tourists.
Prop B is for the county to give $300 million to help build the new Spurs arena downtown as part of Project Marvel. This would also come out of the venue tax applied to hotels and rental cars.
The new arena would cost around $1.3 billion total. The city would fund
