Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers requested a trade before the season, and the team will likely grant that request in the coming weeks. After adding head coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Geno Smith in the offseason, Vegas believed they had the tools to compete in a loaded AFC West. Unfortunately, they currently sit in the division's basement with a 2-4 record as Smith struggles to adapt to his new environment.
With no realistic shot at the playoffs, Vegas should focus on rebuilding and spending the rest of the season seeing what they have in their young wide receivers. Meyers is in the final year of his contract and probably isn't in the team's long-term plans, so why wouldn't they maximize their return for his services?
