A veteran of 67 NFL games has joined the secondary depths in Foxborough.

The New England Patriots announced the signing of safety Richie Grant to the practice squad on Wednesday, as ESPN’s Mike Reiss first shared.

Grant, 27, entered the league in the second round of the 2021 draft class at pick No. 40 overall. The Central Florida product spent four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons before agreeing to terms with the San Francisco 49ers on a one-year deal as an unrestricted free agent in March.

He was released at the 53-man roster deadline in August.
