What started as discussion about where Cornwall is at in terms of fulfilling its strategic priorities boiled down to a request for a town hall, one that specifically centres around post-secondary education in the city.

It was Coun. Fred Ngoundjo who put the motion forward for the town hall after council briefly discussed progress on the city’s 2022-26 strategic priorities to date. The second of four strategic-priority pillars, denoted as community connections, identifies exploring the development of a university program in Cornwall by working side-by-side with local interest holders, and engaging with university officials.
