After a cagey start in Santiago, both teams were cautious early on, avoiding major mistakes in a tense first half that ended scoreless. But Argentina made key tactical adjustments after the break—switching out of a five-defender setup to add more attacking presence—and it paid off for head coach Diego Placente.

In the 71st minute, Inter Miami forward Mateo Silvetti scored the game’s only goal, sending Argentina back to the U-20 World Cup final. Colombia continued to fight despite going down to 10 men after Jhon Renteria received a second yellow card in the 78th minute.
