Summit County, Park City and Recycle Utah announced they are together developing a coordinated waste diversion plan for summer 2026, when Recycle Utah moves out of its current location, in order to maintain the level of recycle services and options in the county.
A significant part of that plan is finding Recycle Utah a new home.
Park City said it will relinquish a 4.18-acre parcel in the U.S. 40 corridor to be the permanent location for Recycle Utah’s future operations.
This site will allow Recycle Utah to continue operating a central drop-off and collections center, while remaining a hub for waste education, outreach and community building, the groups said.
The groups are also looking at refreshing Summit County’s 2018 Solid Waste Master Plan. That process is already underway, the gr
