BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Deputies arrested a man Tuesday after a concerned citizen's tip led them to discover an alleged dogfighting operation in Berkeley County.

Officials with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office said they received a tip in July about possible dogfighting activity at a home on Reese Court in Goose Creek.

The office launched an investigation, involving a drone operation and multiple search warrants executed at the home.

While searching the home, deputies said they found more than 50 dogs living in "deplorable conditions," many of which had scars consistent with dogfighting.

Investigators added that they found dogfighting equipment, including a treadmill, medications, supplements and a breeding stand.
