(FOX40.COM) — A new pipeline in Elk Grove is to provide 16 billion gallons of recycled water to agricultural lands and existing habitats in southern Sacramento County, after months of road closures and construction.

The Sacramento Area Sewer District announced that all lanes of Franklin Boulevard will reopen on Friday to traffic after being closed since March. These road closures have been implemented due to the construction of the Harvest Water project.

While northbound lanes of traffic on this section of Franklin Boulevard will reopen between Elk Grove and Laguna Boulevards, other roads in Elk Grove will remain closed to deliver up to 50,000 acre-feet of drought-resistant recycled
