Tonight, expect clear, cool, and comfortable weather with lows in the lower to upper 50s.

On Thursday, a ridge of high pressure will be over Alabama, resulting in sunny, warmer, and less humid conditions. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s, approaching record highs. The record in Birmingham is 90, set in 1897. The dry weather pattern worsens the ongoing drought. Please, NO burning across Central Alabama. It will not take much to spark a fire.

On Friday, the high-pressure ridge will shift northeast of Alabama, allowing southeast winds to develop. This will bring partly cloudy, warm, and slightly more humid weather. High temperatures will remain in the mid-80s.
