LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - This upcoming Friday, United ISD will be holding a special meeting regarding the future of the cherish center and other special education programs within the district.
The Cherish Center provides educational assistance and extended support for students with disabilities – including those ranging from 18-21 years of age.
The upcoming board meeting will help determine what services, if any, are being cut and which services will be continued moving forward. although the meeting agenda is vague in description, parents are growing concerns over the possibility of limiting these services-- and are encouraging other parents and guardians to sign up for public comment at the meeting.
KGNS reached out to UISD for a comment, and the board president Javier Montemayor says tha
