STOKES COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — The Stokes County Sheriff's Office is investigating after explosive devices were found in a man's home.
On Monday, a vacant car was shot into the parking lot of a Walmart in King.
Investigators identified the suspect in the shooting as Larry Keaton Brown, 72, of Walnut Cove, and he was pulled over in Walnut Cove to be served with a warrant for his arrest.
Deputies say that Brown tried to reach for a revolver during the traffic stop. However, it was safely removed and he was taken into custody.
A search warrant was then taken out for Brown's home on the 1000 block of Neal Road in Walnut Cove.
At the home, investigators found various rounds of ammunition, numerous firearms, and homemade explosive devices and materials. Neighboring homes were evacuated due to
