SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - It’s a huge week for Notre Dame, as the Irish welcome in USC for a top 25 showdown in their historic rivalry.
And coming into this one, the Irish defense looks a lot better. After starting the season as statistically one of the worst defenses in the country, Notre Dame has stepped things up over the past three games.
The Irish have only allowed a total of 27 points in the last three weeks, including second half shutouts in all three of those games.
The defense has been getting more turnovers and more sacks. The unit has just looked completely different, and the team explains how it’s just a process under first year defensive coordinator Chris Ash.
“Just we stayed consistent. We didn’t change anything,” Ash says. “There was nothing magical with what we had to d
