WESTFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - One woman is recovering after being hit by a car while using the crosswalk in the area of Noble Street in Westfield over the weekend. Western Mass News spoke with two Westfield residents who saw the whole thing unfold.

Police confirmed with us that the accident happened around 1:30pm on Saturday. They told us the car was at a red light and went to turn right on red, not seeing the woman who was in a motorized wheelchair using the crosswalk. The woman was then taken to Baystate Hospital.

Western Mass News spoke with Westfield sisters, Kylie and Autumn Dolan, who had witnessed the crash firsthand. They told Western Mass News they were at the right-hand stoplight when they saw the woman get hit, and immediately put their hazards on and jumped out of their car to
