A federal judge in Missoula dismissed a lawsuit Wednesday challenging a range of energy-related actions taken by the Trump administration. The organization representing the 22 young plaintiffs quickly vowed to appeal.
In his order, U.S. District Judge Dana Christensen wrote that the plaintiffs, represented by the environmental group Our Children’s Trust, were effectively asking the court to depart from a recent precedent set by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
The judge’s order also echoed his skepticism during a two-day hearing in September, when he suggested the plaintiffs’ request for an injunction would amount to a wide-ranging judicial review of administration policies moving forward.
