MADISON (WKOW) — Law enforcement agencies conducted a series of drug-related search warrants across Dane County on Wednesday morning.
The investigation was part of a collaborative effort to combat fentanyl trafficking, according to police .
The operation included participation from the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, Dane County Narcotics Task Force, Madison Police Department, and several other local and federal agencies. The Drug Enforcement Administration contributed as part of Operation Fentanyl Free America.
Several arrests were made for drug and weapons-related offenses, police reported. Authorities discovered large quantities of illegal drugs, firearms, and U.S. currency.
