TOLEDO, Ohio — Ohio drivers-in-training have a new tool to help them log hours, track performance and even get weather alerts while learning to drive.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine recently launched a mobile app designed to support new drivers and their instructors. RoadReady Ohio monitors several driving behaviors, including hard braking, speed, acceleration rate and sharp turning, according to the director of the Ohio Traffic Safety, Office Emily Davidson.
The app features accounts for both students and parents or guardians. To log a drive, the parent or guardian starts a new drive from their phone before putting their phone away until the end of the drive to focus on helping the student.
