CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A New Orleans-based brunch chain with two Charleston locations announced Wednesday it is offering free entrées to federal employees who are furloughed during the government shutdown.
In an effort to help with shutdown impacts in the communities they serve, Ruby Sunshine is offering a free entrée under $20 Monday through Friday to federal workers.
To redeem the offer, patrons must present a valid government-issued employee ID at the time of purchase.
“Federal employees are facing an uncertain time, and providing a meal is one small way we can support them,” said Elizabeth McGee, CEO of Ruby Sunshine. “Delicious food has always been central to bringing people together, and we hope this gesture offers a moment of comfort for those affected.”
