COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) — Columbus city leaders outlined their legislative priorities for Georgia’s 2026 session Wednesday, with expanded property tax relief for residents over 65 leading the agenda.

The priorities were established during the 18th annual Hometown Connection meeting at the Columbus Trade Center, where state representatives, council members and residents gathered to discuss what they want lawmakers to pursue in Atlanta.

“These are the folks that are representing you up in Atlanta, trying to set the laws and the guidelines that allow us to continue to thrive as a state,” said Mayor Skip Henderson
