Los Angeles County’s tracking program that aims to help caregivers of those with cognitive conditions is incorporating GPS technology, the county government announced Wednesday,

LA Found is a program which works in partnership with LA County law enforcement and social services to help people who tend to wander.

With the new watches that provide live GPS updates every 15 minutes, officials hope the program will offer peace of mind to caregivers.

“It’s just amazing,” said Mary Brown whose 27-year-old year daughter, Jordan Hall, lives with autism and a heart defect. “I wish I had it when she was younger because she had been lost so many times. It’s super scary every time.”
