EUGENE, Ore. - Drivers in Eugene should prepare for changes at several intersections as Eugene Public Works upgrades traffic signals on Thursday and Friday, according to the City of Eugene.

City officials said that the new equipment installation on Oct. 16 and 17 will cause the traffic lights to flash red. As a result, drivers are advised to treat these intersections like a four-way stop to ensure safety.

The planned upgrades will take place at various locations: Sixth Avenue from Charnelton Street to Garfield Street, Seventh Avenue from Charnelton Street to Garfield Street, 11th Avenue from Garfield Street to Beltline, 13th Avenue from Charnelton Street to Alder Street, River Road from Northwest Expressway to River Loop 1, and various intersections on Highway 99.
