Former Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold on Tuesday announced his primary campaign to challenge U.S. Representative Scott DesJarlais (R-TN-04) for his seat in Congress. 

In a post to social media, Arnold wrote that his run for Congress follows, "years of calls, prayers, and encouragement to return to public service," and asked for support in order, "to continue that mission for our community, and our country."
