The kicker is often the least thought-about player on most football teams by fans -- whether it's the real game or in your fantasy league. That is, until the kicker is needed. Then, you want the best in the business handling such a crucial job. Here are our picks for the best kickers to start and the ones you should sit in Week 7 on your fantasy football team.
Start Em'
Cam Little, Jacksonville Jaguars: We shouldn't put Little back on this list for the second consecutive week, given the fact that he massively underperformed against the Seahawks. But he has scored eight or more fantasy points in the previous four games before last week, and the Rams have given up 14 field goals this season and have allowed four kickers to score ten or more fantasy points per game.
Eddy Pineiro, San Francisco 49ers: Pineiro has scored ten or more fantasy points in four out of five games played this season. He faces the Falcons, who give up nine fantasy points per game to opposing kickers so far on the season.
Will Reichard, Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings play the Eagles, who give up an average of over ten fantasy points per game to kickers this season. Reichard himself, meanwhile, has eclipsed the eight-point mark in fantasy ball in four games so far this season.
Sit Em’
Joshua Karty, Los Angeles Rams: Karty had a poor showing last week, adding to a list of poor fantasy performances this season where he scored under five points. The Rams face the Jaguars, who have allowed one kicker to surpass more than seven fantasy points this season and have held multiple kickers to just four points.
Daniel Carlson, Las Vegas Raiders: Carlson did well against the Titans last week, but that might not be much better to brag about given Tennessee's situation. And in most weeks this season, he's not been much of a fantasy scoring weapon. His opponent, the Chiefs, have allowed just nine field goals through six weeks.
Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks: Myers pulled off an excellent performance against the Jaguars last week, becoming the only kicker to put up significant numbers against them. But lightning rarely strikes twice, and he'll see another tough matchup this week against an elite Texans defense which have given up fewer fantasy points to kickers than any NFL team this year.
