DARMSTADT, Ind. (WFIE) - Representatives from nine different sheriff’s offices came together at the Bauerhaus for a meeting which was equal parts legal training and counsel, using the combined knowledge and experience from across the region to become better as a whole.

Organizers say sheriff’s offices are a lot like people: each one is different, complete with their own strengths and weaknesses.

That’s why sheriffs from all over southern Indiana met to discuss different strategies and approaches for the challenges each department is facing.

Gibson County Sheriff, Bruce Vanoven, spoke to the importance of that collaboration.
