IDAHO, USA — North Idaho College could provide a crucial update on its accreditation status Wednesday night, a process that has been in limbo for the past four years. The college’s Board of Trustees is scheduled to discuss the issue at its meeting at 6 p.m. on the Coeur d’Alene campus.
The meeting follows a visit on Wednesday morning from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, or NWCCU, the agency that will determine whether NIC retains its accreditation.
Accreditation serves as the college’s official seal of approval. Without it, NIC would lose access to federal financial aid and could face closure.
