Penn State is no longer the largest U.S. alumni fan base.

PSU recently was passed by Indiana University, which proudly boasted of its new No. 1 ranking in a recent press release.

Per IU and the website almabase.com, the Hoosiers’ U.S. alumni base is over 805,000.

Penn State checks in at No. 2 more than 802,000. Penn State’s alumni network includes more than 275 affiliate groups and greater than 100 chapters worldwide. The university reported passing 800,000 on May 9, 2025.
