Slippery Rock Area School District is considering borrowing money to meet financial obligations due to the ongoing state budget impasse, as Governor Josh Shapiro urges lawmakers to pass the budget.

He further stated, "I'll sign it immediately, and counties won't have to suffer, school districts won't have to suffer, veterans won't have to suffer, parents are going to be able to get their kids the social services and healthcare they need. The reason we don't have a budget is because the State Senate has decided not to do their job, not to show up for work."
