DULUTH — Students at the University of Minnesota Duluth gathered Tuesday as part of a protest, urging the administration to adopt stronger protections on campus for international students.
Approximately 40 students attended the event, organized by UMD’s chapter of the Young Democratic Socialists of America, or YSDA. After gathering at the Kirby Student Center, the students made their way across campus, handing out informational cards and chanting.
“We are building power here,” said Zoey Christiansen, the co-chair of the UMD YDSA chapter. “Through this protest, we are not only building momentum on our campaign and winning our demand, but also building lasting working-class and student power on campus. ”
