SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The 2025 Western Massachusetts Developers Conference drew nearly 500 attendees to discuss regional development and housing solutions.

"We need more housing and we need it fast," said Massachusetts Secretary of Housing and Livable Communities, Ed Augustus.

Since Governor Maura Healey took office two years ago, the Healey-Driscoll Administration has been actively working on this issue, with significant efforts.

"We passed the affordable homes act, which is the largest housing bill in the state, $5 billion worth of new spending that is going to support housing production," said Augustus.
