The U.S. Energy Department is mulling a reversal of the retooling grants to GM and Chrysler-parent Stellantis last year by the Biden administration for EV production.
GM said the decision to bring a gas-powered next generation CT5 to Lansing Grand River Assembly is not connected to the potential loss of federal funding.
The next generation gas-powered Cadillac CT5 midsize sedan is slated for the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant, General Motors confirmed to the Detroit Free Press on Oct. 15.
The change follows a $1.25 billion investment from the company in the Michigan plant to continue production of internal combustion engine vehicles, GM also confirmed, a reversal of previously stated plans to spent $1.4 billion to retool the assembly plant for electric vehicles .
The Cadillac CT4
