NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) -- The town of Normal announced on Wednesday that some roads will be closed for Illinois State University Homecoming events this weekend.
The road closures will start at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, and impact several streets, including parts of University Street, School Street, College Avenue and Uptown Circle, Normal Street Supervisor of Public Works Eric Murphy said.

The closures will be for both the university's Homecoming Town and Gown 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk and Homecoming parade.
The 5k and 1-mile run/walk will begin at 8 a.m. and the parade will begin at 10 a.m.
All roadways will be reopened after the festivities are cleared.
