GREENVILLE, S.C. —

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Wednesday morning.

The incident happened around 9:55 a.m. near the Lowe's at 1900 Poinsett Highway.

According to troopers, a pedestrian was attempting to cross the entrance to the parking lot of Lowe's when a 2026 Toyota pickup truck hit the pedestrian while trying to turn onto U.S. Hwy 276.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office has not released the victim's name. Troopers did not say if the driver is facing charges.
